Controversial answer: Metal Gear Solid 3. I may have never played 4, and I did love 3, however without 4, we wouldn’t have Rising Revengence, without 2 we wouldn’t have 4, and without 1 we wouldn’t have 2 or 4, so 3 is the only one I can say wouldn’t severely cascade to the others.
