I did not spend ten minutes scrolling through the Grammy nominees for you to steal my thunder as this book's biggest defender.

I'm not quite ready to go on yet another Midas Man rant, but I did want to remind people it's out officially now. Watch it, engage with it, rigorously critique it or praise it endlessly - just don't take everything it has to say at face value.

Honestly, I believe that the film that came out was not the intended vision, and I also do believe that the team behind the film were and are passionate about Brian and aware of his life and struggles. Regardless, that doesn't detract from the poor showing of the final product.

I've spoken to a few people involved with the film, and what I've gathered is that a lot of the poorer decisions were out of the hands of the creative team, and that much of the primary research the team engaged with had to be discounted for various reasons.

This is an admittedly difficult situation for me, because I don't feel
comfortable promoting it without critique, but I also think the film is deserving of at least some support (if only for the fact it was extant, frankly.)

Anyway I know I don’t post on here a lot but Twitter has a major reading comprehension issue, clearly.

I just find it frankly deranged when people act as though Brian was *only* a side character in the life of John Lennon/The Beatles, because that wasn’t the case in the slightest and a literal hour’s worth of research would prove that. Read more fucking books people, please.

Brian was an incredible man who shouldn’t be overshadowed by any one aspect of his life or death, and people’s refusal to even engage in the most perfunctory research before making baseless claims is genuinely one of the worst things about the Beatles community on the whole.

Anyway people’s refusal to engage with Brian or his life in a serious manner genuinely pisses me off. The man was not a fucking Malibu Stacy that you can fit in to your John Lennon bisexuality claims, he was a real person with his own struggles and personal life.

I said the above on Twitter and I do intend to start posting *some* form of separate Brian related content as soon as I can carve out the time - naturally, everything will be crossposted. I don’t want you all to think I’ve forgotten about you, I just haven’t been posting as much generally.

I know I’ve been saying this for weeks now but I am genuinely running out of pictures to use for these - I’d love to start experimenting with other content as well and sharing some of my Brian knowledge in the new year, but at the moment I’m incredibly busy with irl commitments.
