Last one from my November trip. Six Common Cranes in the lagoon at Els Aiguamolls de L'Emporda on the Costa Brava, possibly en route to sunnier climes. A flock of about 30 eventually spent a few days here, but I wasn't lucky enough to see the larger group.

Another great shot from my November visit to Els Aiguamolls de L'Emporda on the Costa Brava. This stunning Greater Flamingo looks both elegant and awkward in equal measure.

Processed some Aiguamolls de L'Emporda shots from November recently, and I liked this Lapwing flock, startled into the air by a persistent Marsh Harrier. Didn't see if it resulted in a catch, but it certainly created a furore!

It is with great sadness that we report the death of three of the four young Hen Harriers satellite tagged this year, carrying our hopes for increasing the meagre and much persecuted UK population.
