Eh its called the Dunning Kruger times and the author is Flagg Eagleton. I think the joke might be something like 'conservatives are dumb' or 'look at the idiots who fall for this' but yeah not funny either way.

Not really? If the senate passes anything other than what the house has already passed, there's no bill for Trump to sign. Reporting keeps making it seem like this deal is something new- if it is, it has to be passed by the house.

Also I don't follow- the house isn't in session, so wouldn't they have to pass whatever this is, PLUS the house passed CR? A vote on a new deal in the senate does not reopen anything.

This is my opinion on almost all the recent SNL sketches- they're not funny, but the concept is usually funny. I can't figure out why they can't make a funny concept into a funny sketch.

We can be the country of Martin Luther King Jr or the country of Bull Connor. We just have to pick.

I did two of their shows last summer after seeing them last for the St Anger tour in 2004 and was very (pleasantly) surprised by the difference in vibe

"first four novels"?

I kind of feel this way about the Harry Potter movies- some of them feel like they just decided to film the big set pieces from the books, with no connective tissue to tie the scenes together. Its just a bunch of stuff happening, not a narrative.

I think its that there's a feeling its "cheating"- getting the "rewards" of vegetarianism without the costs. Similar attitude towards semaglutide and weight loss without the "work."

The problem is you don't want journalists, you want party hacks. We're not looking for ethics and objectivity, we want ruthless soldiers.

Its seems like, "Fuck you, you've decided to dedicate your career to covering for Trump and helping him loot the treasury" would be a better response.

Right like, "what policy solutions do you want to address this" is never a topic for those on safari in rural America or their subjects.

"Donald Trump isn't even trying to deport violent criminals, instead he's deporting students who criticize Israel and kidnapping random men without criminal records to a concentration camp in El Salvador, and he promises citizens are next" -basically writes itself.
