Olga Ravn's The Employees, translated from Danish, is a workplace novel of the 22nd century. Told in the form of staff reports and memos from the crew of a spaceship, the records detail the ship's acquisition of a strange object and the crew's mounting conflict as they head towards mutiny.

Alain Mabanckou's Dealing With The Dead, translated from French, is a satire of political corruption and Congolese history. Liwa wakes up in his own grave, where he meets his new neighbors in the cemetery before ignoring all of their advice and setting out to figure out just how he died.
