The problem with profiles is the process of distilling who you are into one sentence.

All opinions are my own unless otherwise stated.

As a job seeker, I don’t know that there’s anything more frustrating than Workday.

It’s been a week since I got laid off, and, applying to jobs still feels like screaming into the void. Oh, and unemployment covers even less. Isn’t that a joy?

But I spent the last year preparing for this because, with this economy, a layoff it felt inevitable. I can hold out for the right job.

Got laid off on Thursday, but I’m im down, not out. Got my personal life in order, and I’m in a way better position to weather this situation than I was a year ago.

Thanksgiving was already from scratch. Xmas might be frugal, but it will still happen.

I got this.

At this point in life, I get more span calls than real calls.

Because real friends text.

I don’t want to take anything away from Disney Princess fans, but during this 70th Anniversary of Disneyland and Princess Week, please remember Mulan isn’t a princess. She joins the military. Don’t take that away from the character when she accomplishes a lot more than living happily ever after.

Increasingly, I find myself wondering whether a B2B company can stay in business over the long run if it isn’t a cheerleader for its clients. Like, what does it look like when you dislike clients? Spiteful reporting calls? Hate-born emails on renewals?

Does anyone else’s family fake out ending phone calls, or is this unique to my MIL? She won’t talk about what she wants to talk about until she says, “I should let you go.”

So, like I "do" social media for work. And by "do," I mean I write very concise things for business.

And I've noticed a disturbing thing: The further we get from an era in which there were loads of comedy movies, the more heart attack serious people are on social media.

In observance of the federal holiday, my A/C is not working this afternoon.

Because the origin of some holidays are dark AF, you can't wish someone a happy holiday. So what do you say instead? It's not that you don't understand the holiday origin. It's more like you hella understand it and don't want to be flippant about it.

I'm on another Murder She Wrote binge, and there's a new thing I just noticed. The whole thing is framed like a sitcom. The lighting, the freeze frames, the casual conversations... All of it would be more appropriate if the whole show was about literally anything but murder.

Found Mitsuya Cider at the store today while running errands. It's been 21 years since I've had one, and, yeah, it's still my favorite soda. I just wish it was easier to get in the U.S!

I keep reminding myself that it's ok to let go of being frustrated. That's what healthy people do. They feel the emotion and let it go. They don't drape it over their shoulders like a cape and sashay around the living room in it, bitterly declaring that no one understands fashion anymore.

Real talk: Are there too many variations of weather warnings now, or are there just that many ridiculous storms now?

Sheng Wang warned that Costco is full of injustices, and this is true. But their gas station? Their gas station is full of aliens who are still trying to comprehend this strange planet and its so-called technology.

This Lifetime Movie (or miniseries) is gonna be lit. Get Paul Wall to narrate. Throw in some 3rd Coast bangers. Bring in some local notables for funsies. Have someone in line ask how they're making so much money just selling turkey legs when turkey keeps going up in price, but the legs don't.

Waiting on specific emails never fails to make the whole day go slowly.

It feels like every time my in-laws call, someone within their close circle has a mystery backup with their toilet. And they present it like some sort of international conspiracy/horror movie.

R.L. Stine, if you're out here on Bluesky, I think I know what to do for a sequel to Let's Get Invisible.

Does anyone else ever have a Zoom call that gets cancelled and think, "Man... I put on a dress shirt for this"?

Look, I'm all for AI, but what about some more practical applications? Can AI tell me what I need to get at the store? Or handle a long phone call from relatives? Or the optimal time to leave so I spend the least amount of time in traffic without having to reroute several times?

I can honestly say that I never thought tartar sauce and meatballs would go together, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out they're delicious as a pair.

What is the mac & cheese equivalent where you're from? It's a food you can easily #cook at home, hits you in the childhood feels, and, while it's not the healthiest, you sometimes crave it. In the U.S., that's macaroni & cheese, and in Japan, it's curry. What is it in other places? #food #cooking

Sometimes I still think about the personality test I took in 2011. Why was everything on it sports related? What could it tell the hiring team about a person who was never an athlete? Did they know I guessed "B" a lot? How freaking awesome was the salesperson who sold it to that agency I applied to?
