problem is that it'd still be using more battery when its handheld and not being used because it'd still be listening for the signal.
some sort of way to switch it on and off would be ideal but feels way more in line with steamos than nintendo lol

not really, its just easy to see why it is the way it is with the evidence available. it's not even good intentions its just them trying to scrape as much battery life as possible so people don't complain lol

so reading more about it the problem is the switch 2 only listens for the low energy protocol when its sleeping, so its a decision they made for battery reasons.

tbf the switch 2 will be just too weak (for game freak to make the whole region one map thats loaded in or something)

well it was a choice to use a new modern wireless protocol, if they really wanted to force people to buy new controllers theyd just lock out the old one entirely.

reading further into it, it seems to be because it uses a display port to usb c to hdmi protocol instead of the normal usb c to hdmi one

tbf there is at least one cheap third party dock that does work, so it might be theyve only done it to stop previous docks for some equally silly reason.

i wont speak for them but a big thing that happened recently was a new grok/twitter update got rolled out that lets anyone edit your images/art with AI, honestly its insanely dangerous even outwith art.
