there is actually a BTB about that specific horror from several years ago. I remember it being not necessarily the most community-preferred language but broadly respectful (and very against poisoning children).

as far as I can tell, it mostly originates from grifters on Joe Rogan selling all-meat diets and tallow products. Though I do remember people being skeptical of canola in the early '00s?

yes. I have a friend who's a professor who told me they hardly ever have to make accommodations for students in their class - because they already do most of those things as a matter of course, because it's good pedagogy.
