There were indeed moments of tentalizing possibilities in the course of this war, e.g. Kharkiv, Prigozhin. But the most realistic and responsible prognosis should've been that preventing it in the first place is vastly preferable to whichever end-game we have to consider now.

Much of Mamdani's economic agenda is just not workable, and I think he is smart enough to ditch most of it while focusing on more salient political issues expedient to him. If not, his mayoralty will be an abysmal failure.

If I am reading the DC consensus correctly, there is a very high chance that IEEPA is invalidated by the Supreme Court around Feb 2026. Absolutely no reason for South Korea to cave easily before that.
