3.5 stars - the beginning is incredible, the concept fascinating, the setting engrossing. Things get complicated when more characters are explored, could have used focus. Weird, creative, but the end is a jumble. Love the ominous "saints", though, huge points for atmosphere. #book #booktok #reading

3 stars. A book intending to parody American Psycho still falls victim to its tropes. Funny, wild and disgusting but tries HARD to be those things. All the "I'm not like other girls" unravels a bit when it goes Romeo and Juliet but entertaining for what it is. #booksky #books #reading #novel

My friends and I play a LOT of tabletop RPGs so I have many I love but I feel like Echo (a serial killer-turned-town sheriff with a psychic talking mask named Adam) and Polvo (a sentient octopus art forger/gambler) probably are the most unique and are my favorites to talk about 💕

5 stars. Everyone was right on this one- it is clever, charming, funny, often tense and deeply memorable. Reads fast and has an addictive style. The science/science fiction is presented clearly. The characters are adorable, so brave and silly and lovely. Read it. #booktok #books #scifi #reading

4 stars. 100% see why some could hate this- I found it hilarious. Very short, fast paced, pretentious overwrought prose, classic "smart teenager writes bad fanfiction" style. Meta AF, fanfic within fanfic, cringe and surreal but all too familiar if you grew up in fandoms. #booksky #books #reading

4 stars. Super quick, super brutal, almost hilarious. The men are the real horrors in this short gross novel about racism, sexism, women's rights, and women's wrongs. You cant help but hope the MC gets away with it even though she's a disaster. A fascinating read. #booksky #books #reading #horror

3 star- not a big fan of the writing style tbh but the story was an interesting take on the classic Frankenstein tale. Beautiful, odd, very queer, romantic in a deeply unsettling way. Wish the characters had clearer motives. Would be a good movie by Guillermo Del Toro #books #booksky #queer

4.5 stars- Took a bit to get into it but this was a fascinating and clever sci fi novel with an ace/aro main character who also happens to be a spaceship bent on revenge. Complex and interesting character relationships, unique use of only female pronouns. A fun read. #books #booksky #scifi #reading
