Might be worth trying to bump midtones instead of shadows sometime when experimenting, or trying out the curves chart which gives a lot more control

Would be brighter
True blacks would remain at the darkest value, if you wanted to retain the washed out shadows you could selectively boost the shadows :)

Brought up with a brightness/exposure slider all together, which impacts the entire frame.
What might be more effective for your goal is seperating it out and only bumping up the midtones/gamma
This way, bright highlights would be more preserved with less clipping, and the rest of the frame-

No negativity here btw just curiosity. If it is for HR-preserving purposes (keeping everything in range) you can move the curves or bump down the shadows as shown without losing any information

And this isnt a woe is me post, I've done shit and lost people that I know was 100% deserved, and now that im in a better headspace I would never do or say those things.
I just needed a place to rant, and hope that the multiple people ive hurt at least know im sorry i guess.

It just wears me down. and then when i fuck up and say something impulsive that i regret and i fuck it all up I have a panic attack. I have such a bad habit of impulsively being vindictive, taking "revenge" when I know I was in the wrong, but still being unable to stop myself.

I really dont know what to do anymore, I live with this constant fear of losing everyone that it constantly brings up this stress that I need to perfectly maintain every relationship I have and that if i dont I'll never see them again, or that itll fuck me over.
