Warching a youtube video about 80's cartoons that were censored. They are talking about M.A.S.K. , but showing scenes from The Mask animated show. Voice also cant decide how to pronounce M.A.S.K. sometimes spelling out the letters other times calling it "mass k".
We need a "this is AI slop" button.

I am amazed at how Chocolatey just took over. Amazing product. Rob et al did a fantastic job. I look at open source products and they include instructions for chocolatey.
How is package management evolving in the .NET world?

Windows 11 is what is driving me completely away from Windows. Not just due to the bad decisions around online and AI, but it's just got crappy performance all around. Explorer is so slow. Network transfer is abysmal. How do you screw up tcp/ip over a LAN? Been using since Win 3.0.

An actual interaction I just had with gemini 3.0. The latest, greatest, bestest AI according to all the wonks who make videos and social media posts.

Every time a new LLM is rev'd, I get a million posts/videos about how AMAZING it is. When it really isn't. Anywho, if you want an interesting peek into how an AI writes code and just makes stuff up sometimes, the repo is over here.

How can a self-serve order and checkout kiosk be closed? Did I have to leave and take a break and unavailable to check myself out?

We are back! #C64 www.commodore.net The first official Commodore 64 in over 30 years is here - a faithful recreation of the original motherboard on FPGA hardware. HDMI, WiFi, USB, but compatible with every existing cartridge and peripheral. Not an emulator - a recreation. Same price as my first $299

it still may or may not actually end the task but it will pause.
If you hold CTRL, it will pause Task Manager so the processes don't move around when you're sorted by resource usage

Why are all of the book tok videos we released with reversed text? Why not mirror the video or something. This is so stupid.
June 7, 2025 at 5:20 PM
Ok downloaded a local LLM, adding a directory full of books with RPG lookup tables. Going to see if I can tell it to roll for a type of encounter at a type of location.

K, not gonna lie the second one is genius. Dunno what the BigO would be, but genius.

Then main reason people have environmental concerns is because we still haven't switched over to clean energy as a people IMO.
There are a lot of critiques of LLMs that I agree with but "they suck and aren't useful" doesn't really hold water.

I understand people not using them because of social, economic, and environmental concerns. And I also understand people using them because they can be very useful.

Thoughts?

So MCP servers kind of sound like microservices for LLMs?

Actual serious question. Are the tarrifs the EU are considering against the US going to be applied by the UK as well? I'm ignorant of most of what Brexit did

Can't afford it because of tarrifs. 🤷‍♂️

Someone in Doge saw a YouTube video about vibe coding.
This right here tells me that they have no idea what they're doing.

Anyone who's had to migrate an ancient system hardly anybody remembers how to use to something untried will tell you this takes YEARS.

They're acting like they can just throw code at the wall and it will work. It won't.
SCOOP: DOGE wants to rebuild SSA's codebase in months, risking benefits and system collapse, sources tell me.

The plan is to migrate all systems off COBOL quickly which would likely require the use of generative AI.

Well, we weren't a poor country. Let Trump's economic "plan" work a while longer and we'll become a poor country.

Going to show this to my CS students. Well, not the comments. The presentation.
I also show them an example of how wrong A.I. can be. I asked the SMOL LLM I was running locally "Who is Scooby Doo?". This was the result. No dog is mentioned at any time.

And there is presidence for firing founders of companies. Steve Jobs. I doubt Elon will be as successful as Jobs though.
Tesla’s shareholders just lost another $38,640,000,000 today — a total $TSLA loss of $600 billion since December.

Tesla’s CEO was not in the office.

In literally any other public company ever, this would be the point where the CEO gets fired.
