And regarding the code: it is one thing to blindly trust, it is another one to use the output for handling yourself through, trying out code segments yourself and giving the understanding a boost. One should never use the explanations and code 1:1 without checking. But it is an aiding tool.

Well if you come from a field where one should express oneself in a certain neutral and professional manner, that is not always easy for non native speakers. And it usually eliminates errors quite well. I never change everything, just adjust formulations and punctuation errors.

How is that in detail? I have never encountered a destructive example with chatgpt except for people not properly researching.

I know of examples where ChatGPT helped simplifying mathematical problems by suggesting an alternative approach people hadn't thought of yet. One should just go away from seeing it as a replacement for humans and see it for what it is: a tool. It is not a generalised AI!

It should simply more often remind the reader not to use it as the single source of information. I use ChatGPT more in a sense that if I have no idea of something, I ask it for a short summary and references for further reading. This usually works well and saves time.

I don't agree that we don't need this per se. As a non native speaker I am sometimes happy to have an AI tool to refine sentences for a more professional language. Also, if I want to better understand program code not written by me or if I want to use a new to me programming language, it is helpful.
