Given the dropoff when our first choice fullbacks are out, I'd probably be lookin there first.

I think individually, Burn and Trippier are alright and offer something, but the disruption to our patterns when both Tino and Hall are out is concerning.

Net is relative when you're talking about squad building costs. It's context.

Targett was cheap, and did well before endless "injuries" - and we survived. I'd say we got our money's worth.

Wood we sold for the same price we paid (i know net spend is inconvenient to you). Ashby, whatever. Barnes, 40m doesnt go far now. Kelly..howay man. Osula started to come good. Wissa 🤷‍♀️

Gordon had a great preseason and start the prem well before that red against Liverpool, and he is our tip scorer in the champions league.
November 16, 2025 at 10:36 PM
My word... imagine having faith in a manager who's led you to the champions league twice in 3 years, won the first trophy in generations, and done nothing but improve the team, and the club. You bloody happy clapper.

Obviously I agree with you btw.

And where is this 800m from? Dunno if I got this wrong but I see gross spend about €650m, net €472m. That's about £400m.

Who has been a poor signing? You could argue at this point Elanga has been. Other than that we've not rly missed. Yes it's easy in hindsight to say we should have bought l fullback cover, but we could have had squad-depth-revealing injuries anywhere.
November 16, 2025 at 12:28 AM
Nah, forget context. Just focus on the bottomless, opening abyss we are falling into at an exponential rate with no hope or sign of rescue.
November 16, 2025 at 12:22 AM
In the cold light of no context it looks crap. Isak checked out after the cup final, ruined the summer, and once we recovered from it Hall and Tino get injured and highlighted how class they are. We are still 4th or 5th in the 4 years since he arrived, and one decent run from 5th in this table, too.

For someone who claims to like the man. You bend over backwards to criticise him. Or do you just enjoy trying to spread negativity?
November 15, 2025 at 2:17 PM
Christ almighty 🤣

So translation: he found an answer to the problem.

The absence of Hall and Tino has rly hit us, especially as teams figured out how we compensate for it.

Gladly. And if I'm wrong then I'll say so. But I remember people callin for his head this time last year then we won a pot and finished 5th.
November 15, 2025 at 7:48 AM
Position in the league correlates closer to wages more than squad cost. In 4years our trend is to overperform. I can undertand how being shortsighted you might have your expectations inflated by that but just trust the man. It's a blip. Once Tino and Hall are back things will turn around
November 15, 2025 at 7:40 AM
No, I think you are.

Howe doesn't control the transfer market. People see the Saudi's coming and slap another 10mil on the price tag, more if they know we're desperate.

As for players not lookin rdy... how many of those signings have flopped? How many haven't benefited from Howe's coaching?
November 15, 2025 at 7:37 AM
😮‍💨 so would you swap out last 4 years of growth and development for that of a Brighton or Bournemouth, a feeder club?
November 15, 2025 at 12:22 AM
And have they won silverware and won championsleague qualification multiple times?
November 14, 2025 at 12:22 PM
Haha same

Opinions are like arseholes, and like arseholes yours are full.. 🤣

Investment on a thoroughly under-invested-in squad. There's still a lot of work to do.
November 14, 2025 at 11:06 AM
Any excuse, no matter how illogical, for a bit of doom and gloom
