I am a high school math teacher and former professionally licensed electrical engineer. My background also includes my service in the U.S Navy as a nuclear power technician.
You need to deal with conflicts and discomfort. The way that happens is you learn to cope in a classroom where it's safe and under the guidance of a teacher. Hey, maybe you'll even learn to see other points of view not as a threat but as an opportunity to connect on our similarities.

That's all well and good. However, when the student can't produce a competent response to an assessment on the material, then it'll be their problem, not the schools.
If what is being presented makes you uncomfortable, good, life and the real world don't care.

What can you do? Support your local unions. They are there every day serving you, protecting you, working behind the scenes, keeping your local, state, and federal government working. You really don't notice them until they're gone. Then it's too late.

So, what happens if they are successful in breaking the public sector unions and civil service job protections. Police, Fire, EMS, DPW, Teachers will all be subject to arbitrary terminations, nepotism will rule.

This type of behavior was controlled by the federal government, but those personnel and functions are under attack by "Bad DOGE".

People often say what is so good about unions? Well, in real terms, they help increase non union wages because employers want to keep their workers from moving over to union shops. It's a competition for talent. Without unions, there is no competition, and employers will collude on wages.

The mass firings serve multiple purposes. Crippling the agencies that provide support for the most in need and to cripple the unions.
If you look at the spate of right to work and the recent law against public sector unions engaging in collective bargaining, the assault on unions is clear.

There's only one way to resolve this Schrodinger's delema, open the box, have protests, and force the administration's hand. If they are going to declare martial law, they will. It's better to know than not.

The school vouchers are intended to cripple public education. Once enough of the students are siphoned off, the public school system will close, leaving poor and special needs students with no options. Then they will stop the vouchers so only the wealthy can be educated. Everyone else goes to work.

The underlying text is that only white male Republicans are capable of running the society. Any sub-humans will be dealt with, and women will be relegated to second class status. The parallels with the rise of the Nazis are undeniable. So, yes, many of us are worried and rightly so. Thank you.
