Ja, aber die Problematik war die gleiche + die Befürchtungen auch. - Damals hieß der Vorwand militärische Geheimnisse (und Arbeit der Geheimnisse). Dann hat man gemerkt, das läuft nicht, also sagt man, es geht um Schutz von Kindern.
Man sollte nicht nach den vorgeschobenen Vorwänden kategorisieren.

Na ja, nicht erst seit 4 Jahren.. ich erinnere an die Verschlüsselungsdebatten, die vor Jahrzehnten geführt wurden und unter anderem zu pgp führten.
Es ist immer das gleiche Problem.

it always bothered me that they were simply putting it in the name field. To me this always felt like a „type error“.
So finally these e-gates are type-safe 😉

Of course I understand why it was banned in Soviet Union and other oppressive regimes. My comment was on free societies.
My understanding is the banned book list is about stuff that is currently banned in at least one library or school in the US. Or am I wrong here?

Reads more like a best of list. Can absolutely not understand why s.th. like 1984 could seriously be on a banned list.

Rhetorische Tricks und Manipulation zu erkennen ist sehr wichtig. Die Frage ist wie oft gibt es in der Praxis daran gemessen „guten“ Unterricht?
