It is great that you were able to enjoy the facilities at Istanbul airport. It should be noted though, that Turkey ranks at 47 in ILGA's list of 49 countries when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights and quality of life for trans people in Turkey is not good.

Your advice to parents is valuable - especially the fact that we are being lied to by the authorities who do not have our best interests at heart. There is a dissonance between knowing the child and trusting what they say and the impressions we gather albeit sub-conscioulsy from the media.
