It is fun not dealing with trolls, loons and other similar types. The Rovkwell painting that drives me crazy is from the same series - Freedom From Want. I love the painting but the fact people don't understand its context and think it's just a Thanksgiving painting drives me crazy. Thanks!

That's the whole painting (reproduced as a poster). It's part of Rockwell's Four Freedoms Series commissioned by FDR'S administration as you said to sell War Bonds. It was modeled on an incident in Rockwell's own life. A resident of their town stood up at a townhall to speak against a school tax.

People have a hard time seeing the differences an similarities both. When I began the study of anthropology one of my professors stated that if you are serious in your study of the discipline we will never see our own society the same way again. He was right.

We are all brought up enculturated into the norms and structures of our society. It's a challenge, but necessary, to see oneself and the society with clarity and truth. And change what should be changed. Many harmful things are simply viewed as natural and normal. People can't envision other lives

Sometimes, the strongest defenders of patriarchy are women. It provides a place for them in a hierarchy that is above others. If the man/men they are supporting are elites in the hierarchy then they can maintain a relatively high station themselves.

Not to be overly pedantic (just merely pedantic) I would suggest a slight editorial change. It might be possible for the dimwitted (MAGA) to misread the tone of the statement. I suggest changing the end punctuation from a period to an exclamation point to avoid confusion.
