Nemesis, by Gregg Hurwitz
Absolutely fascinating read—i never thought book 9 or 10 in a series would break my brain, but this was the textbook conservative grappling with the radicalized young groyper movement. An old guy horrified at the new wave’s vitriol and violence.

Will to Change, by bell hooks:
Raw and true, I kept having Deja vu of conversations with my therapist throughout this. My only complaint is that I had not found this sooner, I think every man should read this.
Just as a husband needs jobs during labor to be helpful 1/2 continued

A Drop of Corruption, by Robert Jackson Bennett
RJB’s writing almost feels like cosmic horror in a fantasy setting by the way gigantic forces and stories make tou feel small.
This book & series uses that to tell story of public service through a brilliant murder mystery.

The Last Ranger, by Peter Heller
A story of finding one’s place in the world amidst tragedy on top of a crime novel set in Yellowstone.
If I’m honest the mystery portion was only ok, but I still recommend this for the compelling characters and setting + the emotional depth.

A Thousand Natural Shocks, by Omar Hussein
Thought this would just be a run-of-the-mill psychological thriller, but it turned into an absolute gut punch of feeling underpinned by gripping prose.
Easy contender for my favorite fiction I’ve read this year.
