I had a vision of this yarn and worked with High Prairie Fibers to make it a real thing! It is 100% Lincoln, a long wool, and consists of three plies, a white, grey and black. It is a heavy yarn that will keep you warm this winter!

This is where your yarn begins. Is anyone talking about the effect of tariffs on the wool industry? #buylocal

All the garbage bags contain raw fleece. Bags are piled according to breed. I pay a fair price to small farmers for the wool, which will become high quality knitting yarns.
Yes, it is take your cat to work day. 🧶 #cat #wool #breedspecificyarn

This hat needs 12 more rows, then I can bind off. I am tired of knitting it. 🧶

I saw the "Anne Frank Rules" on an instagram post, posted by a person I had met IRL. The words brought memories. There was a time I lived in a community that was a safe house for people who needed to disappear for a time so that lawyers could sort out papers. Now is the beginning of worse times.

Baby sweater progress. Need to do about 3 more inches on the body then I can knit the sleeves. Had to stop as the second skein is sitting in the studio and I won't be there until Saturday. Sigh. Hand dyed yarn so I need to alternate a few rows to work in new skein. 🧶

Progress on the baby sweater. Sweater is size 9 months, baby is currently 4 months old. I need to hurry. 🧶

The beginning of a baby sweater, the hood is worked first. Yarn is 100% Romney, 3 ply worsted, wool sourced and milled in eastern Iowa. Local yarn!

Official certificate stating that I am now Certified as a Level 1 Wool Classer. For this I drove across Iowa and South Dakota (north and west) to spend three days in North Dakota. I did learn things, but not what I was hoping to learn. 🧶 I did meet some fantastic people!

began knitting a baby sweater, pattern was given to me over 20 years ago, a battered photocopy that I found in a folder of patterns. One begins with the hood, should be interesting. Yarn is a 3ply worsted, 100% Romney sourced & milled in eastern Iowa. 🧶 Keep it Local.

I love knitting lace, meditative, long rows with a pattern stitch repeated over and over. Needs blocking to "see". Will add another skein. Yarn is Shetland fingering. Wool sourced from a small flock in northern Wisconsin, spun at mill in Illinois. Keep it local. 🧶

This is 100% Targhee yarn. Wool from sheep living in south central Wisconsin. Yarn was spun at woolen mill in southern Minnesota. Keep it local. 🧶
