Free mana strikes again.
I'm definitely of the mind things should shake out a bit once set 2 hits, but Kai'sa as a leader that removes a core game mechanic was always going to be very strong. So it goes. Hopefully, like most games, the local level of play will be more diverse.

Opened a box. Experience is good, but I also did not research before, so it was all new. Love the card stock thickness and the foil quality. It's a TCG, so the gamble of not hitting anything you want is always there, and at the current prices, I wouldn't open anymore. At MSRP, great box opening.

Played constructed and multi-player. Both are enjoyable. The full power Kai'sa matchup is a little rough, but it's set 1. Multi-player is great, and I would be happy playing only that if there wasn't a constructed mode.
Battlefields are fun, and the movement is just the right amount of fiddly.

All the more impressive. Always nice when a small team makes their vision come to life.

Excellent news. Thank you all for the transparency and updates. Digging Riftbound a ton and can't wait to play more of it as it continues to grow.

Definitely feel you on that. Most of the "fair" combat decks just get out valued via pure card quality. Leona, on paper, seems just fine, then you start playing, and it's just too fair lol. Same with Volibear or Darius. Master Yi being a weird outlier since is plays very well into exactly Kai'sa

I saw an excellent comment on this: "Reactions are strong, but reaction decks aren't."
There's a lot of power in the utility of reactions, but there's also a deep level of skill in being able to play around giving your opponent opportunities to use them.
Interesting little bit of game design.
