While the love of the genre is VERY clear, Clair Obscur lives and dies by its action elements for the majority of the game, especially on expert. If I went in expecting a trad JRPG, I probably would have been disappointed, but as a hard as hell action game with turn based mechanics? It's pretty sick

I'm coming out the other end with a lot of complicated feelings. Need to sit on it for a bit. It's EXTREMELY interesting, unique and absolutely worth experiencing. Did all relationships and a lot of side stuff, but still need to fight superbosses. I need a break tho😂

Actually, I think my only complaint is damage cap. I have been hitting the damage cap for like two hours and my build is not specialized at all. I'm kinda just doing it. I know you can uncap later, so I hope that's sooner rather than later.

I'm choosing to think of it as an action game with really cool turn based mechanics instead of the other way around. The kits of the party and how they all synergizewith eachother is fucking insane actually

Other than not loving how dodging works, the world is crazy interesting right from the start and the battle mechanics are crazy cool. Playing on hard and missing dodges is super punishing.
