The Bill of Rights wasn’t a gift from the founders at the Constitutional Convention. It was a concession wrung out by Anti-Federalists—skeptics, including former loyalists, who fought for rights the framers wanted to ignore. Resistance, not revelation, secured those now-threatened liberties.
