Too often, the only models for feet that artists can find are ones from people who have spent too much time wearing tight, pointy shoes.

I personally find those squashed-up toes unsightly. Enclosed is a picture of an original MakeHuman mesh, with deformed feet, plus my fix to the foot shape.

I hate those long, pointy ears that are supposed to denote "elfin" humanoid races. They look so bovine.

After, what is it, over 2 weeks of work, I present my first walk cycle animation. More than once I had to rip out a bunch of key frames and try again. This is the final result -- not perfect, but I figure it's as good as I'm going to get, for now.

Is it true that people simply don't notice if someone has six fingers on each hand?

Phil Laskey used to post these nice drawings -- some quite sexually explicit, but not all.

Here's one of his I particularly liked, alongside my own homage.

Richard Corben is to me the personification of the "Uncanny Valley" -- is his work supposed to be realistic or is it supposed to be a cartoon? It ends up being something unpleasantly in-between.

"Electronic Surgery" (ES) used to be the term for using Photoshop to modify images of people to add/remove/rearrange limbs and other body parts.

Now I do it starting with something like the MakeHuman base mesh, and I can set my own poses, backgrounds and camera viewpoints in Blender.
