It’s the same premise with low-income housing. Those who live marginal lives are more likely to engage in toxic behaviors, with spillover effects that change the whole character of the neighborhood. Do you want your kids living next to a culture of crime?

You’re more ridiculous. The enlightenment wasn’t beneficial to human society. It probably doomed people to instrumentalization. The enlightenment turned you from a human being with intrinsic worth into a tool for some pragmatic anti-human purpose at best, or just another brute to be tamed at worst.

Genetics as a concept didn’t exist until after the enlightenment and therefore genocide didn’t exist as an intentional act of genetic eradication before. Only with modern hindsight and incomplete records does any past event resemble a genocide. But do you think I was schooled? How so?

I’m saying a new dark age wouldn’t be a problem, and it might help society in certain areas. I’m not saying it’s ever going to actually happen, but it might be in humanity’s best interest to consider humans as intrinsically valuable, as in the past, instead of cogs in an industrial machine.

The enlightenment nearly ended the world as it led directly to nuclear weapons and genocide. Maybe a new dark age is just what we need.

It’s interesting to think about how the media we consume affects our subconscious desires and our conscious choices but it’s impossible to know the real effects.
