Lifelong Canuck, but have lived in the USA and Europe.
The Speaker is second in line, not third.

Annual retail hiring for the busy season is it not?

You can’t negotiate with Trump. If it wasn’t Ford’s ad it would have been something else.
I’m surprised that the ad wasn’t run by the Dems.

It is Alberta’s choice. Are there guardrails in place to ensure conditions of the Canada Health Act are met?

Excellent. Listen to any of the questions posed during question period in the House of Commons and you will often hear opposition members complaining about non federal issues.

Which of the countries on his list actually depended on the self serving exploitation of underpaid illegal workers to keep food and construction cost down and the economy going other than the USA?

Simple slogans usually have little result, life and business is complex. Tax code changes are needed, yet none are proposed by any party.

Poilievre should take a cue from provincial politician John Rustad, both are past their best before date. Rustad finally took himself off the shelf, PP should do the same. The federal Conservatives are not electable with him as leader.

No they do have their differences, which is why we alternate between them about every 8 to 12 years. It is a circle that’s for sure with the Greens and Dippers and the yet to elect anyone PPoC and the QC separatists always on the outside looking in, forever bridesmaids.

As the only realistic alternative to the current government, hard to imagine how the Conservatives could function without their leader having a security clearance.

Likely about the same as those not voting for Harris, leaving selection for President blank, and giving Michigan to Trump due
Biden/Harris support of Israel. Wonder how they feel now that Trump looking at Gaza as a real estate transaction?

Did not think it possible but the dysfunctional federal CPC and PPoC splintering looks almost calming compared to the current dumpster fires of the B.C. “right leaning” politicians.

Split vote surprised me, I tend to vote strategically. The NDP tent pretty much folded for the 2025 election, the writing was on the wall that their members would be crushed. Given that more than 45k votes went NDP/LIB and the Cons won with 31K, surprised there was 25K NDP votes.

Rustad will fight the inevitable as long as he can, the leader of the opposition is worth a 50% top up of his $120K basic MLA compensation. He will hold onto that $180K/$15K per month salary as long as he can…

Don’t we have an LNG terminal in the lower mainland? We are long overdue for the big one.

Much to the delight of Eby and the NDP. No reasonable alternative ensures the status quo remains.

The USA is a shithole country without rules that put the people first, proof is in the pudding.

Like many Canadians, few of us care what a guy representing only and always Quebec thinks. Dani, as ridiculous as she is, is really not much different than than he is, one trick ponies…

If it wasn’t that they are so needed, jail time would seem appropriate.
December 2, 2025 at 8:29 PM
I hear you, getting a fair and just form of representation is not easy. Personally, I don’t think the answer to any issue is more politicians.
The average American constituency is about 780K last I checked. Unfortunately fixing the House does nothing if the Senate stays as it is.
December 2, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Great read. Interesting that in addition to the low paid line workers Ford has some 5000 mechanic openings they can’t fill at $120K per year.
December 2, 2025 at 3:21 PM
The House is locked at 435 is it not? Representation is based on land, two Senators per state, and population of the country with each state getting at least one congressman and the rest assigned on each states population and average constituency. Maybe the senate needs similar rules as the house?

What an idiot. If your medication costs $100 what does it cost you after a 500% reduction? Please, someone ask him this.
