My deep concern about this approach is that it’s teaching the Trump administration that the path to get Democrats to cave is to inflict maximum pain.

It means if we do this again in January, he’s going to try and find new and creative ways to hurt more people faster to get Democrats to cave

We are not.

Yup. They also “lowered” the cost per person by increasing the number of people this is supposed to feed.

30-40% less food AND they say it now feeds 10 people instead of 8.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

It's affordable if you feed more people with less. Walmart's deal this year is cheaper, but you get less food to feed 10 people instead of 8.

He's also taking credit for Walmart shrinking the amount of food and increasing the number of people it's supposed to feed.

Serves 10 this year instead of 8, and you get less food. Enjoy your sliver of turkey, meemaw.

True, but now they say it has to feed 10 people instead of 8, but they didn't increase the amount of food you get, they decreased it. Enjoy your sliver of turkey, meemaw!

Seeing the spillover effect in my company-sponsored Blue Cross plan, too. Premiums up 18-21% this year.

one last observation: donald trump has never won a majority of the vote and yet the political press treats him like the embodied spirit of the american people. will be interesting to see how they discount mamdani as representing new york if he wins less than a majority.

Makes me hope Mamdani actually does get more than 50% just to show them up.

I love living on the North Shore but I do miss those South Shore bar pies.

The next shift will be to “We’re deporting anyone we want, even if they are citizens.”

She mentioned using the ACA plan “in the interim” so they are probably not 65 yet.

And why are they talking about SNAP getting cut off? Because Republicans refuse to negotiate on THIS EXACT ISSUE, maintaining the ACA subsidies.

I’ve been rewatching the Hocus Pocus movies this week and really enjoying them again. I also love Coco, not just for Halloween, because of the beautiful visuals.

If one party doesn’t completely cease firing, can you really call it a ceasefire? If not an on-and-off kind of thing.
