Just looked up scanner wand, as a swear I saw something on tv before. Turns out they're a thing, you kind a few online as "wand scanner" or "handheld scanner"

Stupid and naive me hoping he would be more open about the LGBT community mentioned that if my son wanted to explore himself, whether it being his identity or orientation I want to be there to support him.

While visiting this past friday, of course the news came on and how Trump is screwing over the LGBT community. My dad has the mindset that ALL those within the community need nothing more than lead to the head (not his exact words, but it's exactly how he feels).

I couldn't take it anymore and finally had somewhere to go. I couldn't have my own opinion on anything (still can't to this day). All of this was about nine years ago now. Since then I've been trying to get his mindset out of mine and be more open.
