National Guard to LA? How does it benefit citizens? What is the ratio of Guard and police to protesters? What level of violence comes from protest and what level from military and quasi-military?
And the big bill? How does it benefit citizens? Which citizens? How?

I think we should consider laying blame on the GOP rather than Trump or Trump administration or DOGE. The entire party needs to be held accountable. The elected officials and all the way down to the ballot boxes.

There's a history of electing privilege. The much adored Thomas Jefferson apparently had six children with one of his slaves. Dwight Eisenhower wasn't faithful to Mamie. JFK wasn't faithful either. In each case, white male privilege prevailed.

Yes, we need to do a lot of things. The GOP has been planning this going back at least to the Clinton administration. Check out McConnell's successes stonewalling. We need to get really good at stonewalling. We also need to get really good at promoting ourselves. Run for things, not against things.
