So that’s why we took most of this year off without passing any legislation other than benefits to ourselves and big funders.

I guess standing up against rape culture was a bridge too far. You were expecting a hug?

Until the 1960s the vast majority of hospitals were government owned or funded.

Insurers are not solely responsible. Specialty practices and for profit hospital ties are a huge healthcare cost driver.

Build an acceptable blend of single payer/private choices. Improve ACA, not “you’re on your own”

The digital age and quick draw keyboard warriors miss a lot. They claim ACA is the end of healthcare in America. Reality is quite the opposite.

Origins of our excellent USPHS was maritime health clinics established in 1798. It has been in the forefront of medical advancement since that time.

OTA originally functioned in a similar manner as GAO. Non partisan factual analysis prior to funding. Pilot studies for new concepts without precedent. Peer review by people who actually know something.

The EV rollout and many other programs would have been far more effective without monopolies.

Nothing works perfectly, but had we not abandoned such efforts a lot of waste fraud and abuse we see from misdirected public funds would have been more transparent and less politically directed.

I’ll close with this thought. Much of the critique in the article is fair. The solution is not going to come out of politic as is.

My first job out of school was a pilot project at NASA JSC between the Apollo and Shuttle programs. They were looking for opportunities to apply technology in the construction and development industries.

Didn’t take, clash of cultures. Good spinoff though. A lot of innovation we see today grew out
