Utopian visions held by authoritarians can only be realized over the broken bodies of those who disagree with them, and that goes for auth leftists and rightists. They'll work together until it's time for them to turn on each other, just like they did in 1939 to start WW2.

There's been a thing called a de minimis exemption for customs duties. Any shipment worth less than $800 qualifies. The latest round of tariffs from the Mango Mussolini killed that exemption.

It's completely reasonable to expect that police spend their time making us safer and hold themselves to a high standard of behavior, especially when use of force is involved.
Maybe people would like them more if seeing a cop car made us all feel more safe, and not less.
