It occurred to me that if we follow this naming convention, Dream would be called Light Angel Dream aka Lad.

(It would be very funny to call this version of Nightmare, DAN, but it would entirely ruin the aesthetic I'm imagining 😂)

Then he ices over all of Dreamtale verse. Only Dream escapes. Nightmare sets to work expanding his ice and destroying people's ability to feel.

Dream is desperate to prove his brother wrong. Feeling is an essential part of life. The only way to save everyone is to make Nightmare accept that...

This pre- Incident Nightmare comes to the conclusion that All Feelings are the root of his and Dream's suffering. If nobody felt anything the world would be a peaceful and safe place for everyone.

So he somehow eats the apples(?) and becomes an emotional void, siphoning everyone's emotions away.

Swad is usually depicted as running very hot, so this Nightmare would be opposite. He'd be cold to touch and have magic aligned with snow and ice.

And then they wake up, unable to move - frozen in time. Dream is a statue again. Conscious and aware but unable to communicate. This is the third time this has happened and now they can't ignore the truth. Every time Dream or Nightmare dies, they are sent back here to try again. (3 of ?)

They place Nightmare's twisted crown on the freshly turned soil. Then Dreams lays on the grave, so tired - so alone. They think it would be better to be in the earth than to be like this. They close their eyesockets and fall asleep (2 of ?)
