I guess I've been very lucky, then - most PWUD, including folks with SUD, that I've worked with have been so eager to engage with positive change from the get go. I love that they can choose love for themselves even with small, caring gestures.

Love all you do to keep folks as safe as possible in a policy hellscape. And to make sure they know they are loved and cherished right now exactly as they are. ❤❤❤

I think the rock bottom idea has harmed not only individuals but society - that the only way to be of service to PWUD in the long run is to allow them to experience as much harm, pain, and shame in the present is quite literally our stance, and it kills mercilessly. 😔

Absolutely - it influences policy enough to make folks think they can't allow regulated supply, must incarcerate, etc. because otherwise we're "enabling". 🙃 So now we have unpredictable supply, conditions that drive use underground, etc that actually kills most folks. Not the drug.
