it really is like a rug pull when so many "jobs" pages on company web sites do such a good job at telling you why you'll love working there and when you finally scroll down through 100 miles of hype you just see "No current openings."

Based on the number of ads I’m getting on instagram for Threads I’d say they are trying to get a Q4 usage bump to help their KPIs

This may seem like a small grievance but there are too many apps that get away with sending one or two marketing push notifications to my phone even though in their own settings I have them disabled. Yes, I could disable notifications at the os level but those apps offer other good notifications.

I am a fan of marching bands and DCI but why do they always add weird extra notes to songs when they play them? The sung version will be like Dah Dah Dah and the marching band version will be like Dah da-diddle da-da and it isn’t like they are covering for a gliss or anything

One thing about using ai or "vibe coding" is that it completely removes any sense of ownership. I don't want to strain this analogy but its sort of like hand-crafted vs mass-produced. Maybe it still works but it wasn't made with much craft or care and probably has quality issues.

I want everyone to be able to give feedback about the app I'm working on (at work) and I do not want to forbid anyone from filing bugs but "it doesn't work" and "its buggy" just aren't helpful bug reports and so I do feel like we need some kind of class on how to properly report an issue.

We need to get official agencies and other thing of Twitter/x. There’s no way I’m making an account there and when half a news article is just embedded tweets it sort of ruins the access.
