I definitely recommend Stormlight, but so you know, the book that is coming out in December is not the end of the series. Its just the end of the first main plot arc. The series is planned to be 10 books.

No problem! I have a mildly unhealthy obsession with Sanderson's books. Im rereading Rhythm of War (Stormlight book 4) right now to get ready for book 5 in december.

Each surge is shared by two orders. The 3 "lashings" are the 2 powers of windrunners plus the 2 combined. Adhesion (stick stuff together) Gravitation (fall in different directions) and the "reverse lashing" to pull things in. Bondsmiths have adhesion, but it mixes differently with their other surge.

I didnt finish GoT, but I was disapointed by the other 3. Lost and Discovery felt like they forgot what the shows were about. Galactica was a letdown at the time. But the more I rewatch it, the happier I am with the ending. It just felt rushed like they had 1 season of show for 2 seasons of plot.
