Does Nurse have concerns about Embiid’s career low 5.9 FTA per tilt? Embiid is adept at drawing fouls inside, then making opponents pay by shooting FT’s at 80%+. At his best, Joel averaged 10 MAKES per game on 11+ attempts. The extra FT’s make up any gains from him shooting from beyond the arc.

This is also reflected in Joel’s FT attempts, which have now fallen to a career low 5.9 attempts per game. Not ideal for a player who is particularly adept at not only drawing fouls but then making the opposition pay by shooting 80%+ from the stripe. At his best, he averaged 11+ attempts per game.

Yet ANOTHER reason Embiid should be limited from taking as many 3-point attempts and forced to run the floor. Not only is he far more dangerous inside and much more difficult to defend down low but he also draws more fouls and is an excellent FT shooter. It’s not too late for Nurse to fix this.

I find it bizarre that someone with knee issues, like Embiid, so willingly throws himself down on the court. Often times he does so unnecessarily. Have Nurse and/or Embiid been questioned about this? It would be interesting to know how often he hits the deck per game. It can’t help his situation!

I hope he gives you a legit rationale for allowing him to continuously hang out at the top of the arc, where he is also not in a good position to rebound a miss. Opposing coaches must be thrilled to escape the responsibility of having to defend him down in the post, where he is their biggest worry.

I wouldn’t do that trade.

Is anyone talking about Embiid’s ineptitude from beyond the arc (8% over his last 5 games, including 0 for his last 14 attempts) this season and the fact that he isn’t being asked to run the entire floor and play down low, where he creates mismatches and is most effective?

Does it appear to you that the team bogs down offensively whenever Embiid is in the lineup (not running the length of the court, setting up at the top of the 3 point arc)? From an opposing team’s view, Embiid is more difficult to defend when he’s in the low box and can best use his size and skill.
