It was 48 years ago today that the Cramps and Skafish began a three-night run at CBGB in New York. The shows were wild, iconoclastic, and everything that punk, new wave, alternative, experimental rock and psychobilly should be. Also, best wishes to our beloved Lux Interior in the spirit world.

1-20 years ago, I walked into Chicago's CRC Studios to record my first holiday jazz album, Tidings Of Comfort And Joy - A Jazz Piano Trio Christmas. I never met the bass player or the drummer before. Listen on YouTube: youtu.be/o8pkulyNbY8?...

2-This picture is one of my favorites because it was when he was a child still going through cancer treatment. Now he's an adult and mindful about being a good person, especially when it comes to being considerate of others. Pic: Glinda Harrison

1-Please join me in wishing my son Jamie Harrison a very happy birthday!

Both his mom, Glinda Harrison and I love Jamie with our entire being. Also, it is wonderful to see his phenomenal discipline and commitment to being the very best musician he can be.

2-In addition to Rick Nielsen saving our lives when the entire crowd at our show in Rockford Illinois was in the process of rushing the stage to attack, Cheap Trick's perspective speaks to what they witnessed go down.

1-Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Cheap Trick were at my band’s Chicago shows from the beginning, back when there were audiences that tried to kill us, starting 2/76.

I love this still pic taken by Guy Rhodes when we were filming the Kickstarter video to help fund my vinyl debut album reissue! Viva music that shatters societal limits.

Let’s wish my first cousin and phenomenal DJ Bobby Skafish a happy birthday! Here's a pic of Bobby (2nd from left) with members of the Dead Boys & others. This was 10/77 when the Dead Boys played Chicago’s Quiet Knight and my band opened the show. To Bobby’s best day & year yet!

For all of us, our birthdays are important and often milestones.

With that being said, I just want to take a moment to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to everyone who acknowledged my birthday. What we share is a tremendous gift! Pic: Glinda Harrison

On my birthday, I'm phenomenally grateful to be here, and to everyone who is acknowledging my day.

Personally speaking, I continue to forge my journey with the intention of fulfilling all that I'm here to do: musically, spiritually, and as a person. Again, thank you! Pic: Glinda Harrison

After I finally got the rights back to my debut album, originally released on IRS Records, 5/80, I was excited to discuss the project's reissue with the fans. However, Bo (who loves attention), had other plans!

3-So it's amazing that Darryl can hang with Miles Davis and then lay it down with the Rolling Stones without cluttering up the songs by showing off his virtuosity.
August 13, 2025 at 2:03 AM
2-Darryl is not only an easy-going and great guy, but a phenomenal bassist, as witnessed by playing for Sting, Miles Davis, and the Stones. It takes great musical discipline and poise to not overplay.

1-Here's a pic of my son Jamie Harrison with my friend and Rolling Stones bassist Darryl Jones at the NAMM show in California a few years back. I first met Darryl at the South Chicago home of Skafish keyboardist Javier Cruz in the 1970s.

4-Jimy was filled with stories, wisdom and what a phenomenally colorful, charismatic character he was. We wish Jimy the very best in the spirit world and we honor and salute him always! Pic by Len Czyzniejewski of Jimy and me when my band toured with Iggy Pop, opening several Midwestern shows 11/79.

3-When Sid, unprovoked, smashed a beer bottle on the face of Todd Smith (singer Patti Smith’s brother), it was Jimy who rushed out from behind the mixing board, punched Sid, manhandled him, dragged him through the club and threw him down a flight of stairs.
July 30, 2025 at 3:14 AM
2-Jimy was from the rough and tumble Chicago Streets and he often protected my band. The most well-known example of this is when Sid Vicious, (out on bail for the alleged murder of his girlfriend), came to see my band play at Hurrah in New York 12/78.

1-It was three years ago today that legendary lead singer of the Shadows of Knight, Godfather of garage rock, and my former road manager Jimy Sohns transitioned into spirit. He had several hits, with the biggest being Gloria, selling over 4 million copies.

I wanted to share the news that heavy metal pioneer and innovative rock vocalist/musician Ozzy Osbourne has transitioned into spirit, just a few weeks after his goodbye concert in Birmingham. Apparently the concert raised $190 million for charity and we wish Ozzy well!
