I can't for the life of me imagine looking at the past decade of politicians and being like "yup these folks definitely want what's best for me as a non-cishet non-neurotypical person", like that's so out of touch with the reality that you've been witness to in even just the last 2-3 years.

The "perhaps imagining how it looked" is very operative in the reply. Nobody originally brought up ideation yet somehow that's the topic of conversation lol.
The point was that lots of objectively evil people die and it's not weird to appreciate that fact. Assuming more is happening is maladjusted.

It's been such a harrowing experience being one of the people who worked to get Sinema elected just to have her spit in our face. But it's really not just one or two bad apples, the leadership for the DNC does just as much work uplifting these kinds of candidates for multiple terms.
