I misspoke. He was the Poet Laureate for Vermont in 1961 and won 4 Pulitzer Prizes. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal which he received from President Kennedy. He was an amazing writer.

It is not an obscure piece of poetry! Frost was the Poet Laureate and one of the most regarded of his time.
