Incredible teamwork today as we removed the metal lantern from Front Hall to reinstate it in its original home, hanging from the newly uncovered and restored Panelled Dining Room ceiling.
This ceiling has been hidden away from view for 70+ years, with both lanterns reused in other rooms.

Our small site team helping our Area Ranger install temporary river bank protection whilst we wait for spring (when our project to restore this section can begin now we’ve raised enough money 🎉).
A lot colder than the July 2021 heatwave when we installed the first temporary protection!

A lot going on: they’ve just started taking off the roof in time for the winter (it’s a bat conservation project as much as a roof project), 1950s false ceiling is being removed this week, the emergency river bank restoration begins & we’ve just opened new estate walk with our neighbouring charity
