In the context of Canada’s colonial history, it’s in especially poor taste and demonstrates a lack of consideration for Indigenous people. It’s a bad look but if you want to dig in, be my guest. I’m just letting you know that it shows that you have not considered what your joke actually says.

I understand it’s hyperbolic. But it’s problematic because it’s choosing a location where Inuit live and flippantly suggesting that their home is an empty place that you can use as a place of banishment for people who don’t participate in the common good.

Or don’t. People live on Baffin Island and joking about sending entitled southerners with preventable diseases there is in pretty bad taste. Consider deleting.
