"Always forgive your enemies. Never forget their names." -- JFK
I think you miss the point; the poster is showing that the same states that voted for the Trump administration are some of the biggest losers when it comes to the policies they voted for. I'm not sure pointing this out is 'gloating' - and we certainly aren't having fun under trump.

"it was a JOKE" is so weak. I may seem arrogant to you, but are you sure it isn't you are just a bit dim?

no, that was exactly the point. Try to keep up, Brian.

"[...] instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.”

No? Economics 101; any business will invest if the prospect of profit is high. Investment to make a golden age is the province of a government, not a business. Also, if a person hears 100 songs and is influenced by them and it isn't plagiarism, then it isn't plagiarism when a machine does it.

When I see in notifications that someone reposted my comment - how do i go from there to the original thread where my comment is?

Go to the register of campaign donors. Are any of those being attacked in DC? No? Then no “representative” has been paid to oppose the takeover, have they?

It shows they aren’t just ready for fascism - they have been living it ever since Reagan allowed FOX to poison the minds of the electorate. They don’t like it any more than a German civilian liked what was done to the jews - but they won’t do anything effective.

Well it isn't great - but this was in Feb/Mar this year (so not new) and 300 US academics 'applied'. Bear in mind we hear about a spike in searches about moving to Canada every election - the time to worry is when 300 US academics *actually move* and don't just talk about it.

True - but scientific discovery uses the scientific method and produces hypotheses that are demonstrably the closest we can come to the truth given the evidence. As shorthand, we say science is true. Religion is, at best, a good story.

well - until biochemistry became a thing, we owed every single investigation that led to a new drug or treatment to someone anecdotally mentioning they thought something worked, and we should check it out.
July 8, 2025 at 6:45 AM
well yeah - but how did opium become a painkiller? By 'endless anecdotes over time' piquing the interest of a scientist, who then tested it by experiment. Anecdote is one of the weak forms of guidance that lead researchers to possible areas of study.

Yes - but NATO is the way empires are built in the modern world - back in the time of Rome, you would be invaded and later told your menfolk would be joining an Imperial legion to fight far away for the glory of Rome. In the modern day you have to compromise - but NATO is how the US did it.

... and that is awesome, plainly - I'm a fan.

But you take it from "where it breeds" and repeat it in cleaner, less vile places. You could expose and debunk it where you find it, perhaps? Or do you know the authors you expose are here also?
June 20, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Okay. But if the US government was separate from US politics so the latter was just performative shouting and flag-waving, how would it be different to what we have?

Happy Juneteenth. BTW, black home ownership in the US is about the same today as in 1960.

Question: I moved to Bluesky to get away from the scammers and liars polluting social media there.

Do you think all social media platforms should be filled with the same toxic content?

Yeah, this is normal - and he thinks he is being helpful, and is probably a bit upset right now that you don't see it. I really don't know why we do this, but we do...

Does anyone know if the Vietnamese government has a force attempting to track down the over 2,500 babies taken by the US in their 1975 'babylift'? I'm not defending Russia's theft, just putting it into perspective.

I look like a sad prune - but I'm happy... or do I mean drunk? Not sure...
June 12, 2025 at 10:29 AM
Well, at least we'll learn lessons from this so we don't repeat it.... only joking! Yankeestan going around is ever-decreasing circles while shouting how superior it is.

well - look on the bright side - now we know dogshit can type. Pay it no attention.

Hmmm... clicking on the link gives an error (could it be my VPN?)

Also - can you share the results from your survey?

Prebiotic? Just salts, maybe?
May 2, 2025 at 9:24 PM
Sorry - it is always a surprise when history moves quickly, but it did - the old, decent USA is gone. In truth, it died decades ago but the two parties did a great job of covering it up. Trump was damaged enough to let you see behind the curtain.
