Fortunately, the stuff you'd be doing to get a game downloaded on the deck is very simple (works the same as windows, no command lines or anything!) But it's definitely a daunting proposition from the outside, I get it.

Yep! Just bear in mind it runs Linux, so if you're not used to that it might be a lil different. It's one of the easiest Linux experiences you can possibly have, and pretty much everything you'd ever want to do with it has a tutorial somewhere. Plus there's a lot of support for emulators and such!

yes! It's just a computer that boots into a console interface. You can drop back into the regular computer desktop and use it exactly like a standard computer (you could plug in a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and just pretend it's a desktop even!)

Basically, if you're comfortable downloading the games from a web browser and fiddling with a couple of minor settings, you can get anything running.

... and you can use steam input to set up the controller to work with anything too, so the keyboard is mostly to make it less annoying to fiddle with downloading the game onto it.

so performance wise, yeah the deck will handle that fine. For things off of steam, it is not exactly a seamless just-works experience, but it's not that hard to run games in desktop mode, or add them to the library. At worst, a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard will make it easy to set up or play (...)

The first time the pop up came up I was like ooh I unlocked something maybe I'll go check that out after I do this other thing and then Oh No Why Are We Fading To Black

That is probably my biggest gripe with the new one, aside from that I wished it was a bit longer/had more of the ideas introduced after the first two games. But I can't stay mad at a new Katamari game, it's basically Christmas
