It's hard to find photos online of the stitches & patterns described, though. For example this design from "a Czechoslovakian curtain."

Amazing thrift store find. I just picked it up because it was $1 and about #embroidery , but then got home and realized it's a treasure trove of historical and indigenous stitches. 1964.

Nearly had ourselves a lotus-eaters situation in the beautiful & massive Elizabeth's Grand Antique Co. I could have stayed here forever. I swear it's 10x bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside.

I have been sewing for 20+ years but just started embroidery about a year ago to reduce stress. So far I have no long term plan. I've just been hanging them up in my basement but they're going to creep up the stairs soon. 😄

Finished this pattern by DarkDarlingShop last month. The hand & cuff are all tiny chain stitches; the rays are brown backstitch whipped with gold. #embroidery

This was the oldest book I've come across at the small thrift store where I work. It's a German prayer book from 1834. Currently listening to a book set in 1846, so it's surreal to hold a book contemporary to that time.

1. Made some customers happy at the thrift store where I work (NFP that funds our pantry next door.) 2. Bought myself a new needle minder for embroidery. It's a bee.
