Ahhh, that’s what a bumper was! One of those Pirates of Penzance lyrics I learnt as a kid and never had occasion to look up before now.

What's all this then

Twice thwarted in our attempts to see the Sondheim show currently running at the Hayes, but I did buy myself a relevant present on the weekend.

Also got a puppy last year so I’ve spent the past 2+ years deep in Theory and Practice of Dog Training.

I got reaaaaaaal into F1. And needlework. The two have stared to merge (not pictured).

This stuff is also fucking incredible; eleven thumbs up.

Fuck TERFs; fuck JKR in particular.

In NSW, I checked Women’s Community Shelters when TERF rhetoric started to rise and they seem okay (I would have redirected my donations otherwise). I’ve also seen trans-inclusive parliamentary inquiry responses from them. 👍 www.womenscommunityshelters.org.au

We are on a craft beer crawl this arvo, which for me means hanging out and cross stitching.

I was distracted by a fabric shop on the way. Bought some wool-cashmere blend like some kind of high roller. #auckward

French Maccas (Chez McDo) reopening a question that I thought was long settled:

🎵 Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends 🎵

Front of cross stitch is done and grid lines washed out. Now to finish embroidering the back and mounting it in a hoop.

My nephew is obsessed with Johnny from the Sing movies, so hopefully this meets with his approval.

Cross stitch: front is mostly complete. Contemplating adding small ornament(s) either side of the gorilla for balance, but will reassess when I finish stitching his bum.

The book is out of print so I had to track it down secondhand, but it's ideal for our purposes – totally worth it. #bondsjour

My assistant helping me find the last two colours I needed. Shop was awesome, staff very helpful. They were also kind about my ongoing inability to pronounce the French word for needle ('aiguille').

Cross stitch: managed to finish the name on the front on the plane and started the backing. Stalled because I had a late change of picture plan (gorilla) and needed to find new specific shades of thread, now mostly acquired.

Buckling down through one episode of Taskmaster and one episode of Make Some Noise

Perhaps foolishly, I started a new cross stitch for a nibling in the hope I can finish it before our visit. The gridded aida works particularly well for lettering.

Delighted to receive my copy of How to ADHD – I have directed so many people to Jessica McCabe's videos over the years.

An innocuous curtain at the children's hospital, but every time I see it, my brain helpfully supplies 'colour theory children's hospital'.

Thanks, 2019 Tumblr world heritage post.

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing. The more I learn about all of this, the more I see how there are massive overlaps that cause executive dysfunction. One random example:
