It broke my little 13-year-old brain when I saw it in 1979. It defied the formula which would have had Tom Skerritt’s character save the day. He died before the movie was half over!

Makes you wonder what Harvard discovered back in 2020 that made them bar Summers from new research and advising for 2 years—a light slap on the wrist. If it was bad why didn’t they fire him? Clearly Harvard was wishing back in 2020 that this would all blow over, and for 5 years it did.

The danger with Platner is that Dems don’t know what that’ll be getting. Will he be another Fetterman or worse? I’m all for a good redemption story but would be wary if I was a Maine voter.
