More and more, I leave shows not disappointed—just unmoved. In 2025, I’m only going if there’s a strong chance it’ll stir something in me.

The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) is our closest spiral galaxy, sitting 2.5 million light-years away. Under dark skies, you can see it with the naked eye—an entire galaxy visible from your backyard. A cosmic neighbor in plain sight. #astronomy #astrophotography

The Pleiades (M45), or Seven Sisters, is a stunning open cluster ~440 light-years away in Taurus. Its hot blue stars & glowing reflection nebulae make it a favorite for stargazers. 🌌 #astronomy #astrophotography

We tried mass tariffs in 1828, and it crashed the economy. We tried again in 1930, and it crashed the economy.

Third time’s the charm, I guess.

My capture of the Triangulum Galaxy (M33), ~3 million light-years away. A stunning spiral full of star-forming regions—humbling and peaceful in its vastness. 🌌 #astronomy #astrophotography

This is Messier 78, a breathtaking reflection nebula in the Orion constellation. It reveals the ethereal blue glow of starlight reflecting off interstellar dust, offering a glimpse into a stellar nursery 1,350 light-years away 🌌✨ #Astronomy #Astrophotography

The future is a web of branching paths, and each choice opens up new possibilities as it closes others. This is as true for a civilization as it is for an individual. The more our collective intelligence can inform each choice, the better our chances of finding paths through to a beautiful future.

Musk is holding a rally in Green Bay as part of his ongoing attempt to buy a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. In response, grassroots groups and community members will gather to protest and send a clear message: our democracy is not for sale.

I didn’t expect being in the path of totality to be so moving. The 360° sunset, shimmering silver light, and shadow bands over snow were surreal. I stood in awe beneath the moon’s shadow near Mt. Katahdin. Some moments can’t be captured—only remembered. #astronomy #astrophotography

Deafheaven’s new album is like watching a storm through stained glass - harsh, beautiful, and full of ache. Screams meet shimmer, and somehow, it all makes sense. \m/ #metalsky

Caught the Horsehead Nebula at the center, its dark silhouette set against glowing gas and starlight. Below and to the lower left, the Flame Nebula burns brightly, lit by Alnitak—the brightest in Orion’s Belt. A stunning glimpse of dust and star birth in Orion. #astronomy #astrophotography

This is the stunning Rosette Nebula, a cosmic rose blooming 5,000 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros. At its heart lies the brilliant star cluster NGC 2244, whose massive stars illuminate and shape this vibrant stellar nursery. #astronomy #astrophotography

The snow’s melted, but the world hasn’t caught up yet. March in Maine feels like an empty stage, quiet and expectant, waiting for something to begin.

Four nights ago, I photographed the breathtaking Orion Nebula (M42), one of the brightest and most iconic deep-sky objects in the constellation Orion. Seeing this kind of cosmic activity reminds me of the beauty and chaos of creation on a galactic scale.
