I have not listened/watched to this episode, but I already agree with you. There is no way I will be happy with this verification by Google, no matter how they try to sell it.

So iiuc, DP Alt mode is preferred over HDMI in this case? I currently use an HDMI monitor and I have to do some hacks to have a barely usable extended monitor

Totally agree! I got an M2 Mac with 32gb of RAM 2 years ago and compilations were super fast! Now it can take several minutes for a clean compilation and it actually gets hot!

I had a Pixel 6a and it was perfect for my needs. If you buy new, the 8a seems like the best option to me from those two. I just got the 9 Pro and I am a happy customer. I do use GrapheneOS though.
