Maybe my dad can mentor you. So loud he makes me just about jump out of my skin.

Is a gourmet kitchen too fancy to have any actual appliances? For when you can afford to just order everything in?

I grew up with savory buttermilk cornbread as the standard (and my Dad will go on rants about sugar in cornbread), but I’ve branched out and recognize other varieties can be as good and might pair better with different foods. And sometimes Jiffy just hits the spot.

IIRC, their deal is that they’re engaged, but won’t get married until reforms to couverture are passed, so she won’t lose her legal personhood or property. The hero was supportive of her activism and I believe started to be active in Parliament to help push women’s causes in the government.

I think it’s at its best when you’re some combination of baffled and delighted.

We also got Lil Jon performing Turn Down for What on the Toys R’ Us float. Truly inspired 👌

That’s often my holiday strategy. And the best white elephant holiday gift I ever ended up with (Olga Tokarczuk no less- passed up comedy home accessories and liquor, I want *that one*)

Just finished Longshadow last night! (because my library finally added it to Libby and there was quite a hold time, so there seem to have been a decent number of people who’d been waiting for it)

A coworker recently brewed a pizza beer- tomato, garlic, oregano. Not one you’d want a full pint of, but impressive as far as tasting pretty much like your basic pepperoni pizza. My favorite reaction was a guy who ordered it out of curiosity and just kept sipping and going “What the fuck” repeatedly

When I saw their announcement of the new issue, I swear my 10 year old inner child shoved my consciousness aside to squee in delight.

Was having a discussion at work recently about ingredients/flavorings we could use in a recipe
Me: Ah, now I have Prince stuck in my head.
Coworker: ????
Me: You keep saying raspberry puree
Coworker: …Man, now you’ve done it to me, too

I ended up listening to the audio first because I messed up my book order (elder millennials shouldn’t order things from their phones, I should know this) and I think the only reason I didn’t cry was because I was at work, but I did have to take some pauses and deep breaths. Awesome narration btw.

I scored a mass market pb copy of this at the latest library sale (plus Spindle’s End). Looking forward to it!

Called and left messages at Ossoff’s state and DC offices. The only thing I can figure is that airlines are paying them for this because, what the hell?!

I love both of those books and I usually have to think for a second about which one I mean. And I was just having a shower thoughts ponder the other day about the latter being sort of dark version of the former.
