I only read the first 2 volumes I think but wow. Just a devastating but necessary work

It was published 2 years shy of the new millennium of 1900, and god does that give context to things like the contents regarding race from an English author.

Also, it was published one year after Dracula (1897)!

It’s been years since I read anything by HG Wells and I forgot he has this concise clarity to his writing that makes the awful events in a story feel more awful.

I bought the cheapest* primary and secondary genes so the future litter will have interesting choices lol
